I've always wanted to join a book club, so when my group of friends decided it would be fun to start our own I couldn't wait to be member. Our first book, Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons, by Lorna Landvik, was a wonderful read to kickoff our first month. This fiction piece takes the reader through the thirty year friendship of five women who live on Freesia Court in Minnesota, and decide to start a book club called Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons (AHEB). Each character brings their individuality into the book club, which forms a tight bond between these ladies, creating a page turner for the reader.
While reading this book I tried to figure out who in my group of friends would fit each characters persona. The characters had me laughing out load, fuming with anger, and needing a Kleenex. Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons is a fantastic book club read! Our first book club menu wasn't half bad either with brownies, chocolate cake, and bon bons. Bring friendships and chocolate into your next book by reading this novel.
